My new old hobby

Since childhood, I’ve been passionate about plants, but I’ve never grown a bonsai before. It seems the time has come to change that.

My love for plants began back in elementary school when I accidentally broke off a small cutting from a cactus. I think it was in third grade of elementary school, though I can’t quite remember. That cactus is still thriving at my mom’s house in the countryside - it’s far too big to fit in an apartment. Later, I had palms, a pineapple bush, and many other plants. All of them ended up finding new homes during various moves.

Now, I’ve truly become inspired to grow a bonsai. I’ve always dreamed of it, but I never had enough motivation to dive into the details. For now, I’m growing a pomegranate tree - not a bonsai, just a regular one. I plan to let it grow to about 50-70 centimeters tall. But my next trees, and even shrubs, will be miniature. I can’t wait to embark on this fascinating and long journey.
